Margaret Embree has been a painter for over 30 years. Having been introduced to many styles of paint application at an early age, Margaret developed a love of painting, including the philosophy behind it. Finding the energy of the Virginia Landscape inspiring, she often employs  it as a vehicle for the human condition.

Margaret received a BA in Studio Art at the University of Mary Washington. She is an award winning artist, both regionally and nationally. Recently, Margaret won first place in the juried UMW Centennial Alumni Exhibit for her painting "Reggie". Currently Margaret maintains a studio at McGuffey Art Center where she alternates between the continuing exploration of Landscape and abstract work.
